We made it. After 28 hours in transit (most of that sitting in a seat 35 000 ft up and having the backs of our seats being kicked by satan spawn) we were finally at our hotel in San Fransisco.

Grab ye ale and huddle around your nearest heat source as this bard recounts a tail of 3 photogenic adventurers…

At 3:00pm (more like 3:10pm since James and I battle to been torn away from our work at times) on Friday 3 brave travellers started packing up their work. At 3:20pm we were out the immedia Offices and in a Geek car, being driven to the airport by Siko.

Much Excite meme

As we get onto the N2 to King Shaka International Airport, James decides that now is a good time to check he has everything… It turned out that he didn’t… his travel pack, the one Veronica spent so much time preparing for him, is no where to be found. After a quick phone call to Jitesh, James’ fears are confirmed: his travel pack with all sorts of info and all his forex cards is still sitting on Penny Lane*.

But don’t worry, we have a Craig. Craig owns a motorbike. and Craig likes a challenge. Needless to say, after about a 15 minute wait outside international departures, Craig rocked up and handing James his Travel Pack. It was really convenient too as we needed to take a picture of the three of us at King Shaka. And now we didn’t have to ask a complete stranger to take a picture for us.

After a relatively quick checkin process and a quick pre-flight Milkshake, we make our way through customs and settle outside our gate. While we were waiting, Anice graciously offered me the use of his Amazon Prime account to get my mandatory/customary/you-are-stupid-if-you-dont-do-it shopping cart shipped to the hotel (I saved $28.00 in shipping, thank you Anice!).

We eventually get called to start boarding and make our way inside our aluminium flying machine.

Please don’t let there be screaming kids… Please don’t let there be screaming kids… Please don’t let there be screaming kids…

Phew – As we get to our seats and settle in… the rows around us fill in and the travel gods have blessed us… no screaming kids what so ever – Yes Please! Once we are all in, the pilot wastes no time and we are off.
